There is nothing that wasn't perfect during our stay here. The owners, Gill and Dave, gave us the warmest welcome (even though we turned up a lot earlier than expected) and kept us cosy with a lovely pot of tea by the grand fireplace. The rooms were nice and clean and really made you feel at home. We had a restful nights sleep followed by a delicious breakfast (you could choose a variety of different things). There really is nothing I can fault about this place, a true gem. Read less

The best thing about our stay was Gill and Dave's hospitality and kindness. We arrived during the snowiest weekend of the year and they did their best to make sure were were comfortable and warm.

Many of the original features have been retained giving a beautiful, traditionally furnished lounge, which is both elegant and comfortable. Fresh flowers, paintings and personal touches in abundance make it the perfect place after a day sightseeing or shopping to relax, unwind and instantly feel at home.
Free parking is available at the rear of the house or up a quiet side street 100 yards down the road.
Alexander House is non-smoking throughout.
Enjoy our delicious breakfasts served in our cosy dining room where quality of ingredients and freshness of produce is a must.
Our newly refurbished attractive bedrooms are thoughtfully equipped with every modern personal comfort.
