Edgcott House is a delightful house set on the outskirts of the village of Exford, which is situated in the heart of Exmoor. It provides luxurious Bed and Breakfast accommodation.
We have 7 rooms at Edgcott House. All rooms are en-suite. We have 2 large doubles that can also be family rooms. 4 double rooms, one of which can be converted into a twin and 1 large single room. All of our rooms have an individual style and have 300 thread count linen and sumptuous towels for your comfort.
The exact age of Edgcott House is unknown, but it is believed to date from the 17th century. It may have started as a Somerset long house and over the years has been altered and grown into the house you see today.
Environmental Statement
Here at Edgcott House we are doing what we can to reduce our carbon foot print and reduce our non recyclable waste.
All of our lights use low energy lamps, even our down lights use LED lamps that only use 4 watts instead of 50!
We ask that guests who are staying more than one night only have their towels changed if really necessary.
We buy as much of the produce we use from suppliers within Somerset as we can and recycle as much of our waste as we can.
We have wood burning stoves throughout and use wood from our own land to help heat the property in the winter. We have a stream running through the property and are investigating hydro power production and as Edgcott House is south facing, the use of solar for power and hot water .
