Although the staff were excellent, the room was not as we expected as the window in the bathroom was broken and wouldnt shut, there was no direct line telephone and the bed springs made the beds uncomfortable. The Greaves Hotel is located just over half a mile to the south of Lancaster city centre on the A6. It is convenient for business people as well as being ideally placed as a stop over or as a base to visit the city’s historical attractions and natural beauty spots of the north west.
Lancaster is a vibrant university city with a wealth of history, beginning life as a Roman Fort in 80AD. Now its cobbled streets are lined with smart, stone houses filled with lively shops, bars and restaurants. Like the rest of Lancashire, Lancaster prides itself on the availability of excellent local produce. Sample it in cosy pubs and swish restaurants throughout the town. Or shop for hearty local specialities at the Farmer’s Market on Market Square, which takes place every second Wednesday. Lancaster is also not far away from the spectacular Morecambe Bay.
The Trough of Bowland, the Yorkshire Dales and of course the Lake District National Park are all within a 35 minute drive, whilst nearby Morecambe offers stunning panoramic views across the most beautiful bay in England.
The hotel boasts 16 luxury ensuite bedrooms, 8 located in the original building and 8 in the Coach House. All rooms are furnished to an excellent standard with remote control colour television, Sky TV, direct dial telephone, trouser press, hair dryer and refreshment trays. Our warm and inviting Lounge Bar offers a full range of beverages from cask conditioned ales to cocktails. Fresh food, including daily specials are served in the evenings with "deli-style" sandwiches or afternoon tea available all day. Our contemporary lounge bar, The Last Drop Inn, provides speciality coffees, cocktails & light snacks which are served throughout the evening, with leather sofas, local artwork & live music most nights.
