room was generally good, but was directly above pub - you heard everything until closing time - in our case people filed out by 11:45pm, not ideal after a very long day.

we stayed at the shepherds arms in July 10, and were very disappointed with the food and cleaness of the room (mold on windows and shower, wallpaper coming off the wall) . the staff didnt seem to care… Read more

Welcome to the Shepherds Arms Hotel, Ennerdale Bridge which is situated within easy reach of Whitehaven, Cleator Moor, Egremont and Sellafield. A gem of a country house hotel and inn offering ensuite accommodation, home cooked produce and real ales (CAMRA awarded).
Ideally situated for walkers and outdoor pursuits, we are on the world famous Coast to Coast walk. The area offers lake shores, river banks, valley paths and forest tracks which offer a tremendous variety of walks for all ages and capabilities. Other activities include fishing, canoeing, bird watching, rock climbing and pony trekking.
The Shepherds Arms Bar is open to the public and is included in The Good Pub Guide and The CAMRA Good Beer Guide. Specialities are real ales and home cooked locally sourced produce. An extensive full bar menu is available. Packed lunches (to order) and bike hire are available.
