The staff were friendly and welcoming without being obtrusive. However the real winner was the food which was very good indeed at both dinner and breakfast. We'll be back again perhaps just to eat.

"Don't stay here when it's cold"
Staff were friendly and the food was good. It's an old building with no central heating and electric heating inadequate for cold weather. The bed in our room was extremely uncomfortable with a thin mattress. The location was good for the area, but would only stay there again in the summer if they got new mattresses. Read less

The staff and the location
Dislikes:
Heating in the room was inadequate for the cold weather and the mattresses need up-dating to todays standard.

The Somerset Arms has been a coaching inn for hundreds of years. Records suggest that as far back as the 16th century ales were served to travellers and highwayman who traversed what became the busy A350. It is named after the Duke of Somerset who was a great landowner in the area.

In 2004 the village of Semington was bypassed, and for perhaps the first time in its history the road was still. This obviously had a dramatic effect on the role of The Somerset Arms, now not attracting the traveler, things had to change.

In the summer of 2009, following a period of closure The Somerset Arms opened its doors again ready to offer a new service to its local customers.
