A wide range of activities and interests can be found on our doorstep. Scenic walks begin 100m from the Auld Kirk, ranging from a gentle stroll along the banks of the river Dee to an energetic climb up Craigendarroch Hill, or through the Pannanich forrest where deer, red squirrels and the elusive and now rare Capercaillie can be found. To assist in exploring this amazing part of Royal Deeside, mountain bikes, cannoes, fishing equipment etc are all available for hire in the village.

Aberdeen(approx 40 miles)
The Auld Kirk is prominently located on the A93 just a short walk from the centre of Ballater. When approaching from Aberdeen drive through the centre of the village following the signs for Braemar and we can be found about 250m from Station Square on the left hand side.When travelling from Braemar the Auld Kirk is on the right just before you enter to village. Parking is available for a limited number of guests on site, however there is plenty of street parking with no time restrictions.
