The establishment is tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable. The owners have thought of everything down to the last detail, and are welcoming and unobtrusive. Wonderful breakfasts too!!
Dislikes:
If I had to think of anything remotely negative to say, then early morning main road traffic could be a problem if your room's at the front of the house and you're looking for a lie-in!
Response from Bramble Corner:
Thankyou Alison, we are just happy that you enjoyed your stay with us. You are welcome back anytime

Hello there

Martin and Kay welcome you to Bramble Corner bed and breakfast, a very popular 4 star Visit England rated establishment located in the Fen village of Bluntisham Cambridgeshire with good connections to Cambridge, Ely, Peterborough, St.Ives and Huntingdon

A very popular B&B set in a large detached Victorian property dating back to 1880 and with half an acre of established gardens and plum orchards.
We have four letting rooms three of which have en-suite facilities; the other downstairs twin room has a private bathroom. Famed for our breakfasts (eggs provided by our own flock of chickens) we use locally sourced products when available and a much is homemade (bread, jams, preserves, even our own yoghurt made by Kay). Please look at our menu offerings to whet your appetite.

This area is becoming increasingly popular as the RSPB have developed with Hanson Trust, a wetland wild life area utilising the lakes created by the excavation of sand and ballast. There is an abundance of birds and other wildlife to suit guests who have interests in this area, but also for walkers and photographers. Bluntisham also has close ties to the authoress Dorothy L Sayers who lived opposite us at one time in the large former Rectory

We are next door to the Prince of Wales pub where Sam and her staff run a typical village set up very useful for guests who fancy a quick “pint” or something to eat. It is a Greene King pub, so beware of the “Abbott Ale”

Apart from the recently opened section of the RSPB Wetland Trust area, within a three mile radius, there is golf (at the newly opened St.Ives Golf Club), sailing, walking (the Ouse Valley Way), fishing, canoeing, river boat hire, and local sports centre for swimming etc. Further afield there are many ancient monuments, stately homes, wildlife parks and a host of other things to visit. Cambridge itself, with its connection with the famous University, is a must to look around and the open top bus tour is an absolute must
Environmental Statement
Apart from no smoking, take away meals are not allowed to be brought into the property. We have energy saving light bulbs fitted and request that guests do not leave any electrical appliance on standby. If guests are staying longer than one night, we do ask if you would dry your towels on the radiators and reuse, to avoid washing time, water and washing powder. All our toilet flushes have the option of a smaller flush button.
