"delightful hosts!"
We stayed here for 3 nights whilst touring Wales and Mair & Gerry could not have been more welcoming or helpful. The bedroom we had , The Ogwen Room, is very comfortable but not spacious. However it contains everything you need and is very clean and bright. The breakfasts are lovely, well cooked and generous portions. Read less

Our hosts, Mair & Gerry, are such a nice couple and booked restaurants for us for the Friday and Saturday nights and even gave us a lift there and back to the one in Tal y Bont.
Dislikes:
Llanfairfechan is small and has very little in the way of restaurants. There is Oceans, a seaside café, the Village Pub and 2 takeaway places. Oceans is fine, the others not so good.

Your hosts Mair and Gerry look forward to welcoming you in person to their lovely "home from home" ~ The Grove, Llanfairfechan ~ the 2009 Calor Village of the Year for North Wales. Elegant five-star en-suite B&B accommodation in an idyllic position ~ on the North Wales Coast, at the edge of Snowdonia, near the University City of Bangor, facing the Isle of Anglesey across the Menai Straits and close to Llandudno and Conwy Valley.

Nestling between 3000ft mountains and the coast The Grove enjoys a central position ~ with easy access to the North Wales Path (including a Roman Road), the Carneddau Mountains of Snowdonia, the shoreline (with several nature reserves) looking out at the mouth of the Menai Straits, Ynys Seiriol (Puffin Island) and Y Gogarth (the "Great Orme" headland in Llandudno ("The Queen of Welsh Resorts" ~ easy to get to along the very scenic coastal part of the A55). Nearby are the North Wales Cycle Route and many golf courses (around 50 within an hour), castles, stately homes and gardens, narrow gauge railways, marinas, and fishing opportunities.

Built in the Edwardian Period, this detached residence retains a wealth of original character. Following major refurbishment it now also offers a high level of modern comforts. If you want "a sense of place" and to experience the best of Welsh hospitality with an abundance of activities then this is the place for you.

We provide a comprehensive list of restaurants and pubs where you can enjoy the best of local cuisine for your lunches and evening meals. We can help with arrangements for taxis so you needn't worry about having a drink or finding your way around. We provide comprehensive information on local activities and a well stocked library, including many items to enrich your experience of Wales.
