We had a lovely stay at The Old Malt House. It is beautifully decorated and rooms are small but we'll equipped and absolutely spotless. The en suite in particular was so clean. Deb and Bob, the owners, were extremely friendly and couldnt do enough for us. The cooked breakfast was delicious. We overheard another guest ask for just toast as she wanted something lighter And the next day Deb had bought yogurt and fruit for her. She also bought decaf tea especially for me. Excellent service! Likes:
We liked looe as it had the charm of a small fishing town but was large enough to have a good variety of shops bars and restaurants. We had some nice meals out all within easy walking distance.
Dislikes:
The seagulls were extremely noisy right outside the window but not much you can do about that I suppose.

"Loved this place!"
I was greeted by the lovely owner, Deb, who quickly showed me my room so that I could be on my way as I had a friend waiting outside. The room was so cozy and the cleanest I've ever stayed in. The breakfasts were delicious and I really enjoyed visiting with Bob, Deb, and the other guests in the beautiful breakfast room. Bob and Deb are absolutely wonderful and they made me feel very welcome. I would recommend this lovely B&B to anyone visiting Looe, I know I'll be back! Read less

Bob and Deb welcome you to the Old Malt House, a 17th century character guest house situated close to the harbour in beautiful south east Cornwall. We make it our aim to ensure that all who stay with us enjoy a comfortable and relaxing stay. All our breakfasts are freshly cooked using locally sourced produce. We also offer a selection of cereals and fresh fruit. as well as a vegetarian breakfast option all complimented by a pot of fresh coffee or tea.
The Old Malt House is full of charm and character and dates back to around 1639 The origins of The Old Malt House are rooted in the production of malt whisky, where in ages past it would have been sold in copious amounts to local taverns and fishermen and maybe a few smugglers and pirates too!! East Looe is just a short walk away across the historically famous bridge, or ferry ride in season, where you will find numerous shops, restaurants, bistro's and pubs and of course a lovely sandy beach.

Many people stop in Looe on their way around the coastal path where there are some lovely walks and secluded coves to be discovered just around each corner. Looe also has excellent transport links with its own railway station and easy access to Plymouth by bus or car.
Environmental Statement
We are committed to looking after our environment so we do all we can. We recycle rubbish and use Fairtrade, environmentally friendly, locally sourced products where we can. We encourage our guests to use resources wisely and have a laundry policy. We also encourage guests to leave cars behind and use public transport where possible, or bikes are available to use.
