I decided to stay here as it is very close to the beach and the coastal path. The walk along the coastal path from Porthallow to Helford is great, there are some really beautiful views and some excellent little coves along the way. The guest house itself is excellent and the owners are very pleasant. Porthallow is a very peaceful little village and all the locals are very welcoming and easy to talk to. Read less

Great view of the sea from the bedroom.
Very quiet and peaceful.
Nice local pub, The Three Pilchards.
Very nice owners.
Dislikes:
The only problem for me (which has nothing to do with the guest house) was the very narrow roads leading in and out of the village. I suppose it adds to the charm and beauty of the place but it can ge

"Cosy and nice"
I have very much enjoyed my stay at Gallen Treath. Alice and Clive are absolutely amazing! The rooms were so clean, I have actually never stayed at B&B which was as clean as this one was. The breakfast was 5 stars too! Definitely worth the price you pay! The house also has a stunning lounge which has plenty of books on the shelves, so good for the rainy days! Read less

Spectacular coastal views and a warm and friendly welcome awaits at Gallen-Treath Guest House. We are situated in a peaceful, small village on the northeast part of the Lizard peninsula. Most of our bedrooms are en-suite and all are individually decorated, comfortable and clean with beverage facilities and TV. A guest lounge, with balcony, and patio/garden area are available throughout the day for complete relaxation. We cater for all diets using mainly local ingredients - please let us know if you have any special requirements - and we offer a varied breakfast menu with flexible dining times for those who require an early start. Clive has been developing his culinary skills and is now able to offer VEGAN choices on the menu and we have an AA Best Breakfast Award. We are close to the coastpath, diving, sailing and fishing facilities, gardens and more. The shingle beach in the village is dog friendly all year round and there are plenty of country walks for exploring with or without a pet. This is an ideal area for bird, basking shark and wildlife watching and an interesting area for geologists too.
Arrival time - Please let us know your approximate arrival time on booking. There are only two of us and we do sometimes need to go out - shopping, helping at village events and, most importantly, accompanying JD on his walks!
Environmental Statement
We recycle as much as possible and recycling bins are conveniently located for guests.
