The bedroom and bathroom were spotless with quality linen and towels. The bed was very comfortable. The room was large with a bonus of a dressing room. There was a great choice for breakfast.
Response from Woodpeckers:
Thankyou so much for your kind words. It was my pleasure having you and Anne here to stay, even if it was only for the one night. I hope you enjoy your camping break in August, and if you feel the need for a comfy bed or large fry-up you know i'm only a phone call away ! My kindest regards to you both , Jo and Rob

"Wonderful Place to Stay!"
We spend two nights in Jo and Rob's cottage near St. Austell in order to visit the Eden Project and Lost Gradens of Heligan. Once we were shown our accommodations we barely wanted to leave them to go anywhere! They were right up there with the best of the best of places we have booked in England. It is somewhat off the beaten path, but once you find it, you're in for a treat. Our hosts were completely delightful. Read less

The accommodation and garden area was very nice and secluded. Best of all you could walk to the Eden Project in 10 minutes.
Dislikes:
We didn't have a car so it was very difficult to get around. Also, there were limited eating places without access to a car.
Response from Woodpeckers:
Thankyou for choosing to come and stay with us here at Woodpeckers. As you have rightly pointed out cornwall is the type of place where you really do need a car to get the best out of it.There are many wonderful restaurants to enjoy within a 10 minute car journey, however as you say you wouldn't be able to walk there ! I'm glad you enjoyed your day at the Eden Project, and took advantage of the fact that we are only a 10 minute walk away. Please come and see us again if you're ever down this way

Woodpeckers is a substantial picture book Cornish cottage, located between two pretty villages and within a 5 minute walk of the world famous Eden Project. In fact we believe that we are the closest Eden project visitor accommodation within walking distance of the main entrance to Eden. We are Jo and Rob McCutcheon, and we are lucky enough to live in a very quiet, picturesque, yet easily accessible part of Mid Cornwall, with all the benefits of being able to pop into fishing villages such as Fowey and Mevagissey or historical attractions like Lanhydrock or Charlestown and also the world famous famous Eden project or lost gardens of Heligan. Eden is merely a short walk away up a pretty country lane which forms part of the national Sustrans cycle trail. The additional benefits that come with living in such a quiet, yet renowned are are that we can take advantage of all the numerous cycle, horse trails and walks that Eden have created around our home. Our cottage is easily accessed via a tarmac stretch of road that is exactly one mile from the A390 which is the main road from Plymouth to Penzance. All roads in this area of Cornwall have been upgraded over the past few years to accomodate Eden Project visitors and workers.
We have renovated and extended our cottage over the past few years and would be delighted if you would come and share all that we get to experience every day in our idyllic and very comfortable home. We have plenty of parking, very pretty gardens and a large south facing patio where you can relax, eat and drink and enjoy our Cornish weather.
We currently have two bedrooms available, one containing a king sized Bed with a walk in power shower en-suite and a separate dressing area. The other room has a king sized Bed, with a luxury private bathroom that includes a corner shower as well as a large bath. Please browse our photo gallery and after doing so, we would welcome you to come and stay, and we’re sure you’ll want to become a regular! Enjoy !
