The Ancient Shipbrokers sits in the centre of the lovely historic village of Pentewan over- looking the beautiful fresh water harbour and one of the best sandy beaches in Cornwall . Please note that we are in an elevated position and walking to the amenities in our little village will involve some hills and steps. There are 3 good choices of places to eat right here in the village and many more close-by. The Ship Inn is a traditional coastal pub with a beer garden. Simply Judes offers bistro - type dining , whilst the newest restaurant right on the beach specialises in healthy burgers and light bites. All are a short stroll away.

Once the home of the Shipbroker who traded cargoes such as grain, timber, and china clay , the house has a lot of history and has been decorated tastefully with colour and imagination to give a warm welcome.

Private parking is available onsite and is free in the village car park (50m). Help with luggage is part of our welcome.FREE wireless connection is provided in all bedrooms. We have ample space for storing bicycles, surf boards and wet-suits.

Wake to the morning song of sea birds, the sight of the busy House Martins chasing insects, and ducks, swans and herons flying past. A large area is given over to wild flowers and trees which supports natural wildliffe. Picnic benches in the private guest garden can be used for picnics or ordering takeaway food. Wine glasses are provide in the rooms and we will chill wine for you.

The view from the Dining Room is spectacular, looking out across Pentewan Harbour and the beach ,providing the perfect compliment to our delicious AA Gold home- cooked breakfasts. If you feel like a lazy day why not just sit and relax in our pretty garden or on the sun deck whilst you decide what to do? Night time brings along different delights, especially when the moon is shining across the sea or the lights from fishing boats can be seen bobbing up and down in the bay:perfect for those romantic evenings.
Environmental Statement
We recycle various items from your room including newspapers, plastic bottles, glass bottles, food packaging.Towels are changed when they are wet but guests mey request that they be dried outdoors on a traditional washing line by the sea breezes if this would be preffered. We do not have a tumble dryer and always service linen on the premises rather than using a laundry contractor. Food is sourced locally including free range eggs from St Ewe and Cornish Honey from St Austell. We have emergency halogen lighting as part of our fire alarm system which is low wattage and this is in operation at night. The extractor fans in all bathrooms can be deactivated by guests if they choose and all shower units must be switched off at source when not in use for safety purposes and for energy conservation.
