It was beyond our expectations and nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. They were welcoming and friendly from our arrival till our departure. The rooms were top-rate: very clean, well-decorated with all facilities including comfortable beds and spacious shower and excellent soaps, etc. Breakfast in sunny dining-room was a delight: fresh fruit, cereals, beautifully cooked and presented full English breakfast. The owners liked having their radio/music on far too loud in the evening and also in the AM when I went down for a lovely prepared breakfast. The only problem.

No 1 is situated on the edge of Carlisle the great Border City. The Brampton Road Campus is a 5 min walk away. The Caste Sands Centre and City Centre are a 10 to fifteen minuet walk away as is the Hadrians Wall Path. The house is situated on the line of the Roman Wall. The lake district is within easy reach as is Scotland . Gretna Green is only seven miles away. The Lanes in the city centre offers an abundance of shopping. The Cathedral and Tullie Hose are well worth seeing.
