"5* Bed & Breakfast"
Lesley made contact a couple of days before we arrived to introduce herself, we were asked what types of breakfast we would like and whether we required tables booked at local pubs for evening meals. Lesley greeted us when we arrived and showed us to our room which was to a very high standard, there were welcoming drinks and homemade cake waiting for us. Breakfast was homemade with local produce, and a packed lunch was provided for our day out. Read less

Likes:
room and food; the separate fridge with 'proper' milk was very welcome, also to keep some food items.
Dislikes:
the chair at the desk was not suitable to be able to sit at and work - needed to add 3 cushions.
The wifi internet connection seemed to be a bit sporadic at times.

"A memorable trip and stay!"
From the moment we arrived there, we were greeted by the very warm and friendly hostess who gave us the tour of the house and we felt very comfortable. The shower was brilliant, the bed so comfortable, the room we stayed in (4 poster bed) had a lovely relaxing view to the back garden with lots of birds coming to feed ! I saw a woodpecker for the first time in my life!
Excellent hosting, very caring about everything and great locally sourced breakfast! Loved the pets too! Read less

If there is one thing that attracts people to the Lake District it is that calm pastoral beauty which has proven to be the inspiration of poets, artists and everyone who appreciates such simple pleasures in life. At the edge of the Wasdale valley just 15 minutes drive from Wastwater - Englands deepest lake, BRITAINS FAVOURITE VIEW and Scafell Pike - Englands highest mountain is a former C of E School dating back to 1856 and now a quality adults only B and B, which manages to combine some of the great scenic views of the valley from a vantage point of a wonderfully quiet location. With high and low level walks easily accessible from the house it is the ideal location for a break away from it all.

Having only two en-suite bedrooms which are warm and comfortable and lovingly decorated using Laura Ashley wallcoverings and fabrics you are assured of our personal attention. We have focused on quality rather than quantity and both rooms offer deluxe lavender infused Egyptian cotton bedlinen, quality duvets and pillows, fluffy bathrobes, towels and slippers - your comfort is our utmost priority.

We provide quality toiletries and our hospitality tray consists of freshly ground & instant coffee, regular & speciality teas, hot chocolate & home made cake. Fresh flowers, chocolate strawberries & sweets are also provided. Our wonderful AGA cooked Lakeland breakfast is served in our Garden Room using fresh local produce.

Muncaster Fell and the Wasdale Valley fells are visible from the house and we encourage the use of our garden and patio area to enjoy weather permitting.

Betty's a one bedroomed self contained annexe to the house has amazing views from every window, we do welcome a small/medium well behaved dog by prior arrangement. TO BOOK BETTYS CALL DIRECT - NOT AVAILABLE TO BOOK ONLINE.

**PLEASE NOTE** This Bed and Breakfast has two resident cats and a dog. The cats and dogs will not be in the guest rooms at any time.
