Wallace Lane Farm is a 17th Century farmhouse, having been renovated over the last two years. with lots of original character including local stone walls, oak beamed ceilings, and fantastic views from almost every window. many rooms have log fires or woodburning stoves and of course full Central heating.
With over 23 acres of rolling fields, woodland and streams, the farm is ideal for those who like the outdoors and is great for familys and those with pets. if it is a quiet and peaceful holiday you like we are the place.
We are situated at about 750 above sea level and have superb views across the Solway Plain towards the Sea and Scottish mountains beyond. we have some of the most spectacular sunsets in the country not to be missed. in the Sping or totally organic flower meadows are fantastic may visitors have described them as how fields used to be before many years ago.
An abundance of local wildlife including hundreds of different birds such as woodpeckers and birds of pray, we have wild deer and red squrels in our garden almost every day. we are situated close to the RSPBs best bird watching area in Cumbria.
Our nearest village of Caldbeck has to be one of the finest villages in the country, with its village green and pod, it superb and beautiful rivers and riverside walkes, good local pub and a selection of shops, gift and craft shops and tea rooms and restarants.
We are idealy situated for those who wish to visit the northern lakes towns of Keswick, Cockermouth, Penrith and Carlisle with hundreds of visitor attractions just a short drive away.
we welcome all to our farm including familys, people with well behaved pets, we have facilities for walkers and cyclists and have off road parking as well as wifi and telephones.
Environmental Statement
we try to mimimise our impact on our local enviroment and to support our local economy. we only use local produce and provide help for walkers and cyclists. all are propertys are fully insulated with the lattest energy saving boilers with solar panels. with in 2 years we hope to produce all our own green electricity via our own small wind turbine .
