My room was very adequate and cosy. It was very clean and had everything that I needed for my stay. The owners left information regarding trips in the bedroom and there were other leaflets in the Breakfast room. The room was lovely and warm given that the weather wasn't wonderful. The breakfast was very good - lots of choice, as I was their only guest for a couple of days the owner chatted quite amiably to me at breakfast. Read less

I felt very at home, I liked the location, it was quiet at night which is important. I had a Wi-Fi connection.
Dislikes:
This is not a complaint, but there wasn't any info about what to do if one was ill during the night, unless I missed it.

I am sorry you missed the emergency contact sign, there is always a sign on the dining room door indicating where to reach us and at night it gives a contact number to call should there be an emergency and as we are a small family run guest house and we live on the premises a few rings on the doorbell would soon arouse help. Windermere is situated in the heart of England's beautiful Lake District, it is an ideal base from which to plan your holiday. If you love the outdoors there are countless walks amidst beautiful scenery, boating on a number of lakes, horse riding, cycling, golf and much more. For the younger members of the family you will find South Lakes Wildlife Park, The World of Beatrix Potter and The Aquarium of the Lakes. There are stately homes and gardens to visit and villages to explore.
South Lakeland has a wealth of famous and historical characters, William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter and John Ruskin to name but a few. They leave behind such famous properties as Dove Cottage, Hill Top and Brantwood. In Windermere, Bowness and surrounding district, you will find many restaurants and pubs serving an excellent choice of food, from Cumbrian fayre to international cuisine.
