Breakfast was excellent and the room very comfortable.

Be aware that the area has few facilities serving a meal after 8pm - if you're delayed on your journey, find somewhere on the way!

"Fantastic weekend break"
We stayed in the Pepper Pot cottage and it was perfect for a short break. The owners provided tea and coffee and cake in the cottage in addition to the awesome breakfast! The cottage is warm and cosy and most importantly it is set in beautiful surroundings. Would highly recommend if you like walking and exploring the pretty villages nearby. Read less

The cottage itself is lovely and the location is superb.
Dislikes:
I was a little bit surprised by the cool reception I received from the man/owner on my arrival and when I had to get help as the TV didn't work nor was wi-fi reception any good. I didn't feel welcome!
Response from Rushop Hall:
The lady claimed that the DVD player wasn't working but when I went with her to check it out it was playing her DVD. I gave her the Wi-Fi code but at no point did she mention that she had been unable to get onto the internet. Likewise with the TV. The first that I have heard that it wasn't working is upon reading her review. I have just been to the cottage and watched some TV. I suspect that she hadn't switched it back to TV after watching her DVD. My simple message is if it doesn't work tell us

Response from Rushop Hall:
Breakfast is included within the price and all guests are e-mailed prior to arrival with details of our evening meal service and the fact that it is £20 for a three course meal. It is optional. Marcel chose to have a meal and knew how much it was before he arrived. He was also told of the location of other places to eat. There is a pub within two miles and Castleton is within 3 miles and has lots of pubs and restaurants. In fact I picked them up from Castleton as that is where they had walked to

Spacious room, sense of history, location, local knowledge on walking, breakfast cafe, in-room coffee, peace & quiet, bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Owners kind, attentive & helpful.
Dislikes:
Lack of wifi in the main house (perfect in the cafe). Does not accept Amex (although completely understand that processing fees are high).
Response from Rushop Hall:
Wi-Fi is available in the house but can only be accessed by inputting a security code which we can provide. The code is not needed in the dining/breakfast/cafe area where we have a different system operating. Having said that the broadband here is a little slow and don't get superfast broadband until 2016.
We do not take Am-Ex as the processing fees are twice those of an ordinary credit card. Debit cards are even better at 19 pence per transaction. The alternative is to increase your bill by 4%.

We had a recommendation to go to the Beehive pub in combs. If your looking for the perfect country pub with delicious food then here is the place to visit (P.S. their fish and chips were amaze).
Dislikes:
Rushup itself was great - you just need to have a car.
