The historic village of Eyam is a tourist destination in its own right, with its story of self sacrifice during an outbreak of plague in 1665. Village attractions include the Parish Church and Museum, both with displays about the events of 1665, and also Eyam Hall run by the National Trust.

The surrounding Peak District has much to offer for many outdoor activities including walking, cycling, climbing and caving. The nearby market towns of Bakewell and Buxton, and historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon plus many other attractions make this area of the Peak District a treasure trove for visitors.
