"Delightful, welcoming, comfortable."
Lovely welcome from Beverley who also told us about the area, places to eat, etc. Our room was very comfortable and everything was to a high standard. Breakfast was superb. Jugs of milk in the fridge were a thoughtful extra and much appreciated. The immaculate garden and all the flowering shrubs added to the care we felt Beverley gave to her guests. We shall return! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review, especially using our own website to book and review. We have had a lot of reviews via Tripadvisor etc. but not many on our own reservation format, it's always best to book direct with us or on our own website. I am so pleased that you all enjoyed your stay with us. This sunny weather has brought the garden on a treat! I love a good potter in the garden. I am so pleased that we will see you again soon. Kind regards Beverley

"A real Gem"
From the most delightfully kept front garden to the warm, friendly welcome from the host. The en-suite bedroom did not disappoint with tea making facilities, and the offer of fresh milk. Little extra's like box of tissues and essential toiletries raise the game as did the heating being on returning to the room on a miserable damp autumn evening. Read less

Absolutely everything. Will stay longer next time. So relaxing. Word of warning; do not arrange lunch if you go for the full english breakfast. The best ever....freshly cooked to perfection.
Dislikes:
Slightly difficult to find as I had no sat nav, but when you do find it, you wonder how you missed it!
Response from The Coach House:
Thank you so much for your very kind comments. It's always nice when people take the time to write a review so that others may benefit from your experience. People often leave saying they will write a review but forget or don't find the time. I am so pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. I always feel looked after with the little extras in the room like toiletries, tissues, and my favourite chocolate biscuits!! Glad that the cooked breakfast hit the mark. Kind regards Beverley

Whether for business or leisure, a warm and friendly welcome awaits you at The Coach House, a popular AA 4 Star Guest House offering great value comfortable rooms, all with modern ensuite facilities. We have a number of ground floor rooms, free parking and free WiFi access. Enjoy a fabulous English breakfast plus cereals, fresh fruit & home made jams. Look out for our Weekend Discounts!

The Coach House is just out from the centre of historic Melbourne, a village with pretty houses, friendly people, lots of pubs and good restaurants, a supermarket and a good range of shops (including a great shoe shop!), all just a short level walk away. Melbourne Hall (open in August only) and Gardens (open April to September) was home to Queen Victoria's first Prime Minister, Lord Melbourne, who gave his name to Melbourne in Australia. Browse round the Visitor Centre (open most days) where the Gift Shop and Estate Workshops provide a fine selection of unique gift ideas. Well worth a visit is the Parish Church, one of the finest in England and described as “a cathedral in miniature”, followed by a walk round Melbourne Pool (remember to feed the ducks!) and a visit to the Hall Tearooms. Thomas Cook was Melbourne born, and started his travel empire from here selling train excursion tickets.

Melbourne is easy to get to, just 6 miles from the M1 and M42 motorways and with excellent access to Derby, Nottingham and Donington Park. Melbourne is at the southern tip of The Peak District and in the central region of The National Forest, and is surrounded by Historic Houses such as Chatsworth House and Hardwick Hall, Walking and Cycle Routes, great Shopping and fun family activities whatever the weather (ask us for a brochure with discount vouchers worth over £100). Nearby attractions include 3 stunning National Trust Estates (Calke Abbey, Kedleston Hall, and Sudbury Hall), Twycross Zoo, National Memorial Arboretum, Royal Crown Derby and Alton Towers.
