Martin and Debby are very nice and accommodating. The room is more like a small cottage completely independent and that has everything someone could need, from a perfectly decent bathroom to amenities such as coffee, tea and cereal. The location was perfect for me since I was attending a wedding at the Ticknall Village Hall and the Tea Room service just a few steps from the lodging area was also perfect. fantastic value for money. Thank you very much! Read less

The Main Accommodation Consists of a spacious, tastefully decorated two bedroom self contained apartment with private kitchen and bathroom facilities. Tichnall is a small but picturesque village close to Melbourne and Calke Abbey. Built between the years 1701/03, Calke Abbey is a fine baroque mansion that has undergone very little restoration and is surrounded by wonderful parkland. The village contains a lock-up that was still used in the early part of the twentieth century, and the remains of the Church of St Thomas a Beckett on the site of the Church of St George, which was erected to cover the growth in population in the area in 1831.
