The B&B is set in a peaceful hamlet within the Dart valley, three miles away from the picturesque village of Widecombe-in-the-Moor within Dartmoor National Park.

Luke and Hannah, the second generation to live at the farmhouse, welcome you with a log fire (lit during cold winter nights), comfy sofas, good quality bedlinen and often locally sourced full English Breakfasts. Whether it’s kayaking, climbing the granite tors, riding a horse across the moors or exploring the beauty of Dartmoor , Hannah and Luke, with their keen interest in the outdoors, are able to provide you with an enjoyable stay. Luke is an experienced kayaker and climber and can give you advice on local rivers and crags.

Dartmoor is not just about the landscape, although there is plenty of it with 365 acres of National Park to explore; It's also about the Dartmoor ponies, cows, sheep, tors, history and the farming that all sustain this environment for future generations. It's about getting out there, experiencing new things and living life to the full. This living, breathing, working landscape holds the secret to a past that stretches back over the centuries. From rare birds and butterflies, deer, foxes, badgers, adders and insects, wild wilderness, open moorland, rushing rivers (very interesting for the kayakers) and stone circles that shape the landscape of Dartmoor National Park.

There are a number of good quality pubs in the area for your evening meals, one of which is just a short walk though the fields.

Rated number one by Countryfile Magazine 2012 "Top Ten Farmstays in the UK"

We are one of a few selected British Farms as part of Country Living Magazine's Keep Britain Farming.

All bedrooms are upstairs and share a bathroom (bath with shower above), As the three bedrooms share a bathroom not only does it save water, but it also means that we can keep a close eye on it – keeping it clean, hygienic and topped up with good quality eco-friendly tolietries, all made in the UK.
Environmental Statement
We have set aside areas of land for conservation to benefit the native flora and fauna. We encourage appreciation of the Dartmoor National Park’s habitat and cultural heritage. We have a solar security light, and promote the local hydro-electric scheme at a farm two miles away. We favour local produce where possible and buy in bulk to reduce our trips to suppliers. We also use our own eggs, fresh from chickens in our garden. We use a ‘quick cup’ instead of a kettle providing hot drinks for our guests. We encourage our guests to buy local produce and stay at ‘greener’ venues when on holiday. We breed and support the native Dartmoor Ponies on the common with the use of our pedigree Dartmoor stallion Merribridge Groomsman. Our natural spring water is heated by our Rayburn – keeping the water hot without the use of electricity. We try to promote our self-sufficient log burnerMore information on our website.
