"Fantastic overnight stay"
Me and my girlfriend stayed here overnight while visiting family. With it being last minute and the Easter weekend, we researched the area thoughly and discovered this little gem. Based in a wonderful setting- away from the road yet not too far from the pub, it was an ideal location with wonderful service that really made our stay truly relaxing and enjoyable. Read less

Very nice location and a pleasant spacious room
Dislikes:
Room not ready. Owner said she was not expecting I'd till 4pm.In fact as on your paperwork the time given was 14,00' She must have misread it.The track down to this property from main road is awful
Response from Bowes House:
I am very sorry that your stay was not enjoyable. I have double checked the booking information and the stated arrival time was 4pm. It had been a busy day and the duvet cover was still drying on the line when you arrived at 3pm. I apologised profusely at the time. The track to the house the maintenance of it is shared by all the houses on it and is bumpy. It is very short, however, but I am sorry that you found it difficult. I always try to offer, organic or local food, often homemade.

Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) we have wonderful rural views of Somerset and Dorset. Our quiet, comfortable home is set in 6 acres of beautiful garden, paddock and woodland. Delicious organic/local home produced breakfasts. Come in time for tea and enjoy homemade cakes by the fire or in the garden.

Our lovely Dorset home is a warm, relaxed, light and airy house in which to unwind and relax. We have three lovely rooms to offer our guests, all with feather pillows and duvets and crisp white bed linen. A comfortable armchair, a selection of novels and antique furniture make it a very welcoming and luxurious environment in which to relax. All the bedrooms have built in wardrobes and wonderful rural views. We have three lovely rooms to offer our guests, all with feather pillows and duvets and crisp white bed linen. Easy access to the Jurassic coast (a World Heritage site), beautiful National Trust properties and gardens, excellent restaurants and pubs serving locally sourced food and of course superb walking accessible right from the door. The Wessex Ridgeway is just 2 miles away and it is a good days walk to Lyme Regis. Beaminster is a very attractive Georgian town with delightful and interesting shops. Bridport, just 15 minutes away is a haven of antique shops and a great high street with many independent traders and excellent markets both Wednesday and Saturday. Lyme Regis is just 25 minutes away and is a charming town in which to spend the day.

Fleet Air Arm museum, The Tank Museum and Monkey World are all within half an hours drive as well as many other great attractions.
