Likes:
The host (standing in for the usual guy) was understanding and flexible. In an upstairs front room which was a good size and bright with a distant view of the abbey. Bed comfy.
Dislikes:
The initial reaction to our arrival made me feel as if we were aliens. Guidance on locating street parking would be good. A working lock on bedroom door. Better lit bathroom. No TV/radio in room.

An 18th century GRADE 2 listed former bakehouse , comfortable and clean ,flagstone floors , a DOG is present and we encourage others ,the owner is a retired antiques dealer so the house is furnished to reflect its age so if you are premier inn sort of person you probably should consider somewhere else as its not our bag ! , Located in the centre of historic town of Sherborne in the county of Dorset, two minutes walk from the famous Sherborne Abbey and town centre.our ethos is to provide a very relaxed and informal feeling ,,you can get in after 2pm and breakfast is from 7 to 11 , each of the 6 rooms are furnished differently with mix of antiques and modern furniture , tea and coffee , wi fi and tvs in all rooms at no charge , we are only 3 mins from the boys school and about 8 from the grls , the prep is about 2 mins . we have been running for about 10 yrs and know we are not going to be everyones cup of tea as some people are looking for a more boutique type of experience which we are not . . we set out to provide a clean decent room, hot water and powerful showers , where the staff are friendly and helpful ,breakfasts use local food from the local butcher and baker and are cooked to order not cooked two 2 hrs earlier !
DOGS ARE WELCOME IN THIS HOTEL.

We never had a dog that smoked in bed and set fire to the blankets

We never had a dog that stole our towels and played the TV too loudly

We never had a dog that had a fight with travelling companions

We never had a dog that got drunk and broke up the furniture...

So if your dog can vouch for you, you're welcome. •
