Not your average B&B in fairness I must point out this is a Pub with rooms to rent.
Arrived to find the parking is actually town parking maximum Two hours no return.

If you want to exit and enter premises when the pub is shut be perpaired for a walk.
Back exit from front exit is at least a Two minute fast paced walk.

We discovered this when we left on Sunday morning just gone Eight in the pouring rain.
Breakfast is only available high season something that was not mentioned on booking. Read less

Location is good.

Response from The Coach and Horses:
I am sorry for the inconvenience of you having to walk in the rain, but because of insurance purposes there is no way that guests can leave through the front door as it is alarmed for security purposes, and this would have been made clear upon your arrival. We always suggest to guests that they walk the exotic to familiarise themselves. The road to the rear exit of the pub is a residential street so it is very unlikely that there will be parking for our customers.

Kind regards

Nice part of the world.
Dislikes:
No breakfast even though it was part of the deal.
Carpet was very sticky in places.
Response from The Coach and Horses:
I'm sorry for the confusion but on the very first page of the website, it clearly states that the price is room only and breakfast is at an extra cost of £6.95 per person, per night.
We also checked the room after I read your review and could not find any stickiness on the carpet. I wish you would have pointed this out to us while you were here.

Kind regards

Aimee

The Coach & Horses is in a prime location on the bustling high street of Barnard Castle.
We have seven lovely letting rooms, some with en-suite that are available at competitive prices. To the rear is a large beer garden that is covered by the sun all day but sheltered from the wind, making it an ideal place to spend your afternoon's in the sunshine with a nice cold beer. There are facilities to play pool and darts, and maybe dominoes if that is what you fancy.

We are central to the shops, and within walking distance from Bowes Museum, which is housed in a 19th century, French-style chateau, and we aren't too far from the ruins of Barnard Castle. We are in close proximity to the Tees river which is just a short walk from our front door.

With the pubs warm and friendly atmosphere it makes it a great place for family and friends to drop in for a sociable drink.
Every Wednesday there is a market on the cobbles and the first Saturday of every month, there is a Farmer's Market.
We do hold Live Music events on a Saturday night and this makes it a great night to have a little dance and sing your heart out.

All prices are room only and breakfast is at an extra cost of £6.95, per person, per night.
