St Benedict's Byre was built approximately 120 years ago and was used as a milking parlour until 1999 when it was converted to become the beautiful property it is today. One part of the property was used for housing the cattle in bad weather and the rest was the parlour itself. The rooms are all set into the roof with sloping wood beams which were lovingly saved and restored from the original build when the conversion took place. The bedrooms are south facing and soak up the sun all day long.

"Relaxed and contented"
We are visitors from South Africa who have spent the last month travelling around Ireland, Wales and England using mainly farm stay b&b’s for accommodation. We have enjoyed been away from the large towns and cities but close enough to explore during the day. St Benedict’s Byre met our expectation in every way. Read less

"Charming stay in a beautiful location"
We had a lovely stay at St Benedicts Byre. Warm welcome, great facilities in the wonderful cottage. Facilities were faultless, the owners had been kind enough to provide bread, milk etc! Loved the comfy bed and living quarters in general were 10/10! The couple who run it are very friendly and nice. Local pub ‘the plough inn’ was fantastic! Great food, well priced and the best welcome and service we’ve ever had being away non local. Loved watching the sheep and enjoying the beautiful garden too. Read less

We had a bit of trouble with the room being double booked and ended up paying more than we planned for the room we got. But we gladly paid as we had a lovely time!

St Benedict's Byre was built approximately 120 years ago and was used as a milking parlour until 1999 when it was converted to become the beautiful property it is today. One part of the property was used for housing the cattle in bad weather and the rest was the parlour itself.

St Benedict's Byre benefits from an expansive well maintained garden which guests are more than welcome to utilise. The garden backs onto fields resulting in a scenic countryside view in all directions.

The rooms are all set into the roof area with sloping wood beams which were lovingly saved and restored from the original build when the conversion took place. As a result of the barn shaped building all the bedrooms are south facing and soak up the sun all day long.

Around the back linking the house to the garden are 3 patio areas where you can enjoy a drink in the evening sun, and as we are located at the end of a farm lane the peace and quiet makes it the perfect spot for a quiet get away.

In the morning you will be served a choice of continental or full English breakfast, made from locally sourced organic produce. A full breakfast menu can be seen by clicking the link at the top of the page. Weather permitting you can opt to eat outside and enjoy the fresh air whilst watching the lambs in the fields, a perfect, peaceful start to your day.

In the heart of "1066 country" there are many things to do in the local area, not only are there many many famous historical landmarks integral to the History of Britain, there are many other activities in the local area. This includes scenic walks, beautiful fishing spots, many fabulous golf courses, local spa's, horse riding, the list is endless.

As well as the variety of peaceful countryside activities London is a stones throw away, with regular public transport links, so if you want to head into the city why not stay with us in the countryside instead of hectic city accommodation.
