"A relaxing time in a very attractive building set in a lovely town"
We had to alter our booking at extremely late notice. The owners understood and allowed us to arrive and stay a day later than originally booked. The building was lovely and full of nice 'extra' touches which we found impressive. The owners were friendly and took time to talk, were helpful when necessary and were efficient and effective in making our break really good. Read less

The decoration and intererior of the old building was tastefully thought out. The owners called us by our first names, a nice touch. The food was promptly served tasty and fulfilling.

The Cross Keys Cottage is in a quaint and picturesque village of Stow on the Wold. We enjoyed the convenient location and used it for a home base for day hiking through the idyllic Cotswold villages.

You will be assured of a warm and friendly welcome at this 17th century beamed cottage which offers delightful accommodation and is situated just a few minutes walk from Stow Square.

Built in 1640 it was originally an Ale House called "The Cross Keys" where the beer was brewed in the cellar. In 1660 a second cottage was built behind the original dwelling and quite recently a further extension was added, giving Cross Keys deceptively comfortable and spacious accommodation.

On the ground floor you will find the breakfast room where a superb choice of breakfasts is served. There are also two lounge area for guests use - one with television and welcoming open log fires to keep you cosy on winter evenings.

Cross Keys is awarded Three Diamond Status by the Heart of England Tourist Board and is privileged to be included in the U.S.A.'s Frommers Guide with a star rating and Rick Steve 2013/14
