Cirencester was the second largest town in Britain during Roman times. Today the former Corinium Dobunnorum is home to more than 18,000 people and a service centre for the thousands more who live in surrounding villages. In later years it was a very prosperous medieval wool town. Cirencester's market square is dominated by the cathedral-like St. John Baptist church (one of the largest in England). The large south porch with it's impressive fan vaulting was built about 1490

Take junction 11a signed Cirencester/Swindon A417. Take Stratton/Daglingworth turn-off to the left. Follow signs for Stratton. Past Cirencester Town Sign, left in to Baunton Lane. Last house on left.
M4 East(approx 20 miles)
Take junc. 15 signed Swindon A419. Stay on by-pass , past sign to Cirencester Industrial Estates. Take slip road at next junction signed Cirencester, sub signed Bibury, turn left at roundabout then past BP Station on left. Right at next Roundabout. Straight across traffic lights. Past Shell garage on left then Stratton House Hotel, the road rises. Take next right into Baunton Lane. Last house on left.
