Brockenhurst,

Hampshire,

SO42 7RD,  England
Meerut is situated in the centre of Brockenhurst, a unique village with a watersplash running across the main street. Our detached house is set in a large, natural garden at the far end of a quiet cul-de-sac, just two minutes walk from local shops and a five minute stroll from the open forest. The New Forest ponies, cattle and donkeys frequently roam around the village streets, even wandering up to our gate. There is plenty of car parking and all three guest rooms have their own entrances.

Our family-run B. & B. lies off the main street, with the village stream running just beyond the end of the garden. The guest rooms are located at the rear of the house, leading from a patio where there are tables and chairs for guest's use. The rooms are comfortably furnished with quality beds, pine furniture, plenty of storage space, free wi-fi, colour televisions with freeview, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryers, clock radio alarms and individual thermostatically controlled radiators. Two double rooms have en-suite shower rooms and the third room has a private bathroom. All are equipped with Christy towels, heated towel rails and shaver points. There is a fridge, microwave etc available for guest's use nearby.

Brockenhurst is the perfect centre to explore the New Forest, either by car; on horseback riding out from local stables; cycling (cycle hire available) or on foot (we are happy to lend O.S. maps). Although it is a small village there are numerous places to dine in the evenings, choose from:- Italian, French, Chinese, Thai and Indian restaurants; several excellent pubs serving traditional home-cooked food; Chinese and Indian take-aways, plus a fish and chip shop.

Places to visit are St Nicholas Church, Brockenhurst mentioned in the Domesday Book; Bolderwood, which has designated walks and a deer sanctuary; The Rufus Stone, where King Rufus was killed 900 years ago; The New Forest Centre in Lyndhurst, a museum of forest history; Lymington, which has a Saturday market, attractive quay and half-hourly ferries to the Isle of Wight; Beaulieu, a famous motor museum and abbey owned by Lord Montagu; Bucklers Hard, home of 18th Century shipbuilding and a maritime museum; Christchurch Priory and its pretty quay; Hurst Castle, by shingle bank from Milford-on-Sea or ferry from Keyhaven and also Hengistbury Head which has amazing views from the top.

There are many places to visit with the children including safe, sandy beaches just half an hour away.
