Both June and Jenny were lovely, they looked after me and were excellent company and hosts. The room was really nice too; clean, comfy and spacious. I couldn't have been made to feel more welcome.

Response from Tinkers Furze:
We both enjoy looking after and chatting to guests and feel priviledged to have a lovely period house with a strong sense of history to it to share with our visitors. All I can say is if you enjoyed it in February come back in April/May when the spring blossom and rhodendrons are in full bloom!

Response from Tinkers Furze:
It was nice to have such a full table of guests to join in the commemoration of my grandfatdher's ultimate sacrifice for king and country. I also read out the King (George V)'s letter sent to every man who died and exhorting those left behind "Let those who come after see to it that his name be not forgotten". D'Arcy Mander, your name will not be forgotten, especially with your portrait surveying the guests' dining table each morning with his wife opposite.

Tinkers Furze is an original Pool and Sons house dating from the 1920's, situated in a quiet location in the Blue Triangle conservation area in Fleet close to town centre and 5 minutes from the station by taxi. It is a non-smoking household (smoking is permitted on the patio outside). French and German spoken. No pets please as we have our own dog here.

The bedrooms are spacious (two with French windows onto balcony) and with views over the extensive garden. All bedrooms are en suite (apart from one which has a private bathroom with bath and shower), all rooms have TVs, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryers. It has a large well-maintained garden which visitors are welcome to enjoy. Wifi broadband access is available in all bedrooms. It has been awarded an Excellent grading by the Food and Hygiene inspectors and also been graded excellent in a recent Fire Safety inspection.

Tinkers Furze is convenient for Farnborough Airshow and there are several National Trust properties nearby, some with open air concerts and opera performances in summer. We are located near to Caesars Camp complete with (remains of) a Roman camp on top of the hill, and very close to Fleet Pond is the largest lake in Hampshire - a popular haunt of wildfowl. It is convenient for Elvetham Heath, Waterfront and Ancells Farn business parks.

Basingstoke Canal runs through the area and is a popular area for walking, cycling, boating, picnicing and fishing. Explore the ruins of King John's Castle (believed to date from the 13th century) at North Warnborough, Visit the many country pubs some with excellent menus, as well as a range of restaurants covering all types of cuisine in Fleet.
