Very clean, plenty of space, the hosts looked after us so well, with lots of attention to detail.
Response from The West Lodge:
Whow!!
What a comment to make.
We are so pleased to have made your stay so relaxing and enjoyable.
It really is nice from a hosts point of view to help people make the most of their time in the area, and for them to appreciate, and take the advice that is given.
I am not sure you would get that advice in a Budget hotel or a busy B&B.
Lesley will you please thank your husband for repairing the CD player in the main guest bedroom.
But seriously, many many thanks for your very kind comments.

"Pure comfort and relaxation!"
We had a really relaxing stay, an escape from our busy lives!! West Lodge is in a beautiful setting and we could not fault anything during our stay. Robin and Penny have thought of everything and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were to a very high standard, so clean, comfortable and spacious. Our children (11 and 14) made themselves comfortable, they enjoyed playing the games and reading the books in the rooms. The breakfast was AMAZING!! We would most certainly recommend West Lodge. Robert it was a real pleasure to have you and your family as guests.
Look after your wife she is a real treasure. From our point of view the rooms were always kept tidy, beds made immaculately in the morning, children extremely well behaved and polite.
Robert and family you were 5 star guests.
Thank you so much for staying with us.
Kind regards Robin & Penny.

Robin and Penny (the owners) are wonderfully helpful hosts, providing lots of useful information on local activities. Breakfast was huge and provided with much care and attention to food allergies.
Response from The West Lodge:
Many thanks for your kind comments and it was a pleasure to chat about topics of mutual interest.
It was a pleasure to successfully meet the challenge of guests with food allergies. We felt it important to contact you beforehand, to ascertain what was acceptable to you, and in this instance it would appear to have helped you to have an enjoyable stay.

The West Lodge is situated on the Hampshire Wiltshire Border on the A27. Part of West lodge was originally one of the Gate Houses to the Melchet Estate, and as such the property enjoys a rural location. With close proximity to the New Forest, the Test Valley, Salisbury and Winchester it is ideally located to explore the area.
Activities abound, with walking, cycling, fishing, golf and horse riding within easy reach but, with a little notice you could spend a day sailing on the Solent. The cities of Salisbury and Winchester are easily accessible by using park & ride, with the Winchester St Catherine's P&P ideal for exploring the city.
Further afield, 40 minutes away along the M27, Portsmouth has numerous attractions, including HMS Victory and the Millennium Tower, both of which are excellent. Even further afield, Bath and London are no more than 1hr 10minutes by train, up and out by 8.30 and you could be in London or Bath by 10.30!
For the business person, The West Lodge with the M27 & M3 within 10 minutes, provides an ideal base to access a wide circle of locations. Or you might be exhibiting at one of shows in the area, where at the end of a demanding day West Lodge is an ideal place to relax before trying one of a number of pubs for a pint and meal. Or try Les Mirabelles at Nomansland where currently their Tues to Thurs special is excellent value for quality & price.
Currently West Lodge has a large double room with an interconnecting door with twin single beds, the adjoining bathroom has the normal facilities, with an open shower - otherwise known as a wetroom.
This arrangement is ideal for a family, or two couples travelling together who are used to each other.
Parking is spacious and safe.
Our breakfast ingredients are locally sourced.
Your Hosts have a wide knowledge of the area, and are pleased to advise on your choice of activity. Being small we can give that personal attention to make your stay warm & enjoyable.
