West Lodge is set in a rural location alongside the A27.
It is part of the Melchet Estate and as such guests enjoy roaming rights. There are a number of attractive walks along the footpaths and Estate roads. Melchet Court, now the home of St Edwards School, was, during the Second World War, the drawing office for the Mark IV Spitfire.
There are a number of pubs and restaurants in the vicinity which do a variety of meals depending upon guests' tastes and budget.

M27 Junction 2

Follow signs for A36 Salisbury, to the Texaco Roundabout. You need 3 o'clock following the A27 in the direction of Romsey on the dual carriageway.At the end of the dual carriageway turn left onto the A27 marked Salisbury. Sherfield English is 5 miles. Passing the Sports Field on the left follow for quarter of a mile looking for a road on the right marked BUNNY LANE.
WEST LODGE is directly OPPOSITE, 15 yards down a track on the left. Turn into the gravel drive for plenty of safe parking.Salisbury

Travel out of Salisbury following the A36 in the direction of Southampton. After approx. 8 miles at the first set of traffic lights/Texaco garage bear left, the road marked A27 Romsey Whiteparish. Travel through Whiteparish still on the A27 for 1 mile crossing into Hampshire. 400 yards beyond the border on the left hand side is Bunny Lane. WEST LODGE is directly OPPOSITE on the RIGHT, 15 yards down a farm track. Take care turning Right, watch for OVERTAKING VEHICLES.Turn left into West Lodge.
