Little Mead offers seclusion, peace and a glorious setting. It has its own lovingly created garden. It is situated just 3.5 miles from the ancient Cathedral City of Winchester and is easily accessible by Air (from Southampton, Heathrow and Gatwick) Road (via the M3, M27 and A34) , Rail (Winchester Station is 3.5 miles away and offers good train services to London, the South West and North). There is an hourly bus service on weekdays ( but not on Bank Holidays) until the early evening.
Little Mead welcomes holiday makers and business people alike. For the former it is an excellent centre for walking, cycling and for fishing trips and it is within easy travel distance of Stonehenge, Jane Austin's house at Chawton, Gilbert White's House at Selbourne, the Alresford steam railway, the New Forest, the Historic Naval museums at Portsmouth and, of course, Winchester itself. It offers a good base for those having business at Sparsholt Agricultural College (0.5 miles), IBM Hursley, NTL Aqiva in Crawley, the Law Courts and Police HQ in Winchester and the army bases at Worthy Down and the Sir John Moore Training Regiment HQ.
Families are particularly welcome as are guests attending weddings at the village church and Lainston House Hotel
