Likes:
Very clean, room had good facilities, breakfast room a good idea.
Ramona the breakfast assistant cooked the most perfect boiled egg I have had for years.
Dislikes:
Noisy outside as I was ground floor at the front. Very noisy people coming in late with no thought that someone might be in bed. Felt a bit vulnerable alone. Sockets in room plentiful but odd position

"slightly bizarre"
No reception area for usual check-in or check out procedures. We were let in by a workman. We let ourselves out as owner was not in attendance on morning of departure. No formally set breakfast tables. it was like eating in someone's kitchen. All in all a rather surreal experience. Read less
Likes:
Easy parking and quiet location.
Dislikes:
The landing light was flashing on and off all night and there was no way of switching it off. As bedroom door has glass panels at the top, this was very disturbing and kept us awake most of the night.

We welcome guests into the open plan reception with seating and access to free-view flat screen TV. We are 5 minutes from Canterbury West Station, 10 minutes to the town centre and 15 minutes to the University of Kent. We speak English, Spanish, Catalan, Romanian, Urdu and Peshto.

We offer quality accommodation with en-suite facilities in nine uniquely beautiful, quiet rooms, recently refurbished in calm and peaceful colours, with period furniture and decoration, all newly restored throughout and in keeping with the period building, retaining many original features, such as fireplaces, wall panelling and original floors. Every bed is new with a memory-foam topped mattress on a sprung base. Each small en-suite has a power shower with instant hot water, a heated towel rail, an led mirror and toiletries. All rooms have a beverage welcome tray with ground coffee and assorted teas, a hair-dryer, a fan and a flat screen TV with remote.

Breakfast is included in the price of the rooms. We cater for both cooked English breakfast from 8am to 10 am and there is a new well equipped modern kitchen including a washer/dryer and iron with board, and the kitchen cupboards are all labeled, where guests can serve themselves breakfast which is freely available, and no need to wash up! The garden patio has tables and sunshades for eating al fresco outside in the summer.

In and around Canterbury there are plenty of things to do and places to eat. There is the Marlowe Theatre and of course the famous Canterbury Cathedral.
