"Quiet weekend near the Cliffs of Dover"
We wanted a weekend getaway from London where we would walk the Cliffs of Dover and the next day visit Canterbury. This hotel proved the ideal place for this trip. It is located about a mile from the northern end of the cliffs and across the street from a bus that takes you to Dover. The room was affordable, clean, comfortable, and it had a nice downstairs pub to fill us up after our long hike. Read less
Likes:
Friendly staff made us feel comfortable. Great price for a quality room. Room was clean and nicely furnished.
Dislikes:
Not the inns fault but the walk from the Cliffs of Dover to the inn was unpleasant since it lacked sidewalks. The meat pie I ordered for dinner was a bit bland.

Response from The Five Bells:
Hi Sally, When we spoke in the morning before you left you did not mention any issues, we are unable to address them if no one tells us, however we did take on board your comments and called out the plumbers who resolved the problem, and updated the room with some new furnishings, sorry your stay was affected by these issues.

Very noisy, look as traffic was driving trough the bedroom . Staff non interested. Never again .
Response from The Five Bells:
Unfortunately the window does look out onto the road and we have no control over traffic, however there is very little traffic at night, its not that we are not interested, we are not really able to help that situation I'm afraid, it is also the first time i have heard this said and going back no one else has mentioned this issue either. Sorry you did not enjoy your stay with us.

The Five Bells is a refurbished 17th Century village pub, now offering a range of hotel accommodation and food. We are situated in the rural village of Ringwould in Kent which offers lovely walks and great views across the countryside towards the coast. Nelson's Seat is a 5 minute walk away and this is from where Admiral Nelson surveyed his fleet when it was anchored on the Downs. Ringwould is one of the oldest villages in the country, dating back to Anglo Saxon times.

We have a fully stocked bar offering beers, wines and an array of spirits. Why not combine this with a meal in our bright and airy restaurant serving a wide range of locally sourced, home cooked meals. Our Sunday roast has to be tried to be believed! Finally, why not top it off with a night in one of our elegantly designed guest rooms, complete with TV, Wi-Fi and facilities for making tea & Coffee.

We are close to several Championship golf courses, including Royal St Georges, Sandwich; Cinque Ports and Princes.

We are within 10 minutes of the Ferry Terminal and 10 minutes of the Cruise Terminal. We can arrange transport to the ferry terminal or cruise terminal at very competitive rates.

The fast train to London calls at Deal Station which is 10 minutes away from us. We can collect you from or deliver you to the station for a small fee.
