"Pleasant enough but not as expected"
My husband & I decided to spend a night in Harrogate to celebrate our wedding anniversary & our stay at Spring Lodge
was pleasant enough. The B&B really is a few minutes walk from the town centre so well situated. Our room was clean though we did have one issue: As a last minute booking I didn't think to specify in advance that I'd like our 'double/twin' room to be made up as a double. We asked if this could be done & the answer was a curt "no" as the owner left our room. Breakfast was adequate Read less

Good location. Clean room.
Dislikes:
I booked this B&B because of location and because the reviews said how friendly the owners were. We never met the lady owner and the gentleman didn't give the impression he really wanted us there.
Response from Spring Lodge:
When you booked the room you should have indicated that you wanted it to be a double. If you don't we assume you want a twin. Plus we did send an e-mail confirming the booking which stated you had booked a twin en-suite, and as you didn't reply to say otherwise we kept the room as a twin. To convert it to a double when guests arrive is difficult. The lady owner has a part time job and was at work when you arrived and when you came down for your adequate breakfast she had already gone to work.

Spring Lodge is an elegant Edwardian townhouse dating from 1905 offering comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation in central Harrogate. Our guest house is in a quiet cul-de-sac very close to Harrogate Conference Centre and a few minutes walk from the centre of Harrogate, Yorkshire's famous spa town. We provide parking permits free of charge-useful in a Victorian town which was built before cars were invented! Come and try out the North Yorkshire Tour de France 2014 route! We can store bikes! We do not accept pets. We do accept assistance dogs.

We pride ourselves on offering a warm friendly and relaxed bed and breakfast service to our guests, who often comment how quiet it is here-there is no traffic noise, yet we are so close to town and are ideally situated for both the business visitor attending a conference, and the tourist visitor wishing to explore the delights of Harrogate and the glorious countryside of the Yorkshire Dales.

We have been looking after conference, business and tourist visitors to Harrogate for 16 years and can offer a wealth of local information and free wireless internet along with our renowned breakfasts!

Harrogate is an elegant, renowned spa town, with beautiful architecture dating mainly from the Victorian and Edwardian era.

It is also the home of Harrogate International Centre, which hosts many conferences and exhibitions throughout the year.

The town is a fascinating blend of old and new. It has historical buildings such as the Turkish Baths and the Royal Hall-both have been recently restored to their original splendour-and excellent restaurants, bars, cafes and shops- both traditional and contemporary- to suit all tastes.

All this is surrounded by the Stray- a large expanse of green space set aside in centuries past for ‘recreation' for the people of Harrogate and their visitors, and protected in law to this day from being built on.
