myself, my family and our little dog have just returned from a short break at Troutsdale lodge, we struggled to find accommodation at short notice, but what a find! at a reasonable price too. Our stay can only be described as peaceful, beautiful, cosy and well looked after. our rooms were cleaned daily and we were all made very welcome, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you Clive, we enjoyed our stay very much - perfect - credit where crdits due Read less

Had our visit not been out of necessity to visit family, we could have spent time sitting on the veranda feeling as if we where in Austria, the views are so tranquil.

"Fantastic location, views and service. We will definitely be back!"
My husband and I had a one night stay at Troutsdale Lodge. We were made to feel very welcome by Clive, even though we were the only guests that night. Our room was a good size with en suite, and was a lovely vintage style. We slept well after sitting on the veranda late into the night. The breakfast was fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal and a cooked breakfast, which was well presented and really tasty. Fresh filter coffee and juice were offered, as well as toast with homemade jam, marmalade and honey. Read less

We loved the quirkiness of the lodge, which had lots of books, old style furniture and nick nacks, as well as modern touches in the bathroom.
Clive was very welcoming and he left us to our own devise

"A peaceful, relaxing get away."
Myself and my partner stayed at Troutsdale Lodge for two nights in June 2012. It is probably the most peaceful and relaxing place I have ever stayed. Clive (the owner) made us feel extremely welcome and was helpful and friendly. The room was beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. There is a lovely guest room with Sky TV, games, books and DVD's. The location was perfect for trips to Scarborough, Whitby etc and the views from the lodge were breathtaking. I can't wait to return! Read less
