A lovely hotel. David, the owner, is friendly, helpful and informative. The room was quiet and very comfortable and included fresh milk and a choice of beverages. Breakfast was delicious.

"Excellent accommodation!"
This wasn't our first visit to Staithes but on this occasion we wanted a hotel we could stay at with friends and the Endeavour fitted that bill. We love the village itself and the whole area down to Whitby and beyond. Suffice to say that the very last thing we did as we left the Endeavour was to book another stay for later in the year. From start to finish David was the perfect host and was always on hand to provide answers to our questions on the village and wider area. The breakfasts are excellent and set us up for a full day!

This small picturesque fishing village of Staithes, once the largest fishing port in the north of England, was home to 80 traditional fishing boats or “cobbles”. The tradition continues with several working boats operating from the harbour.

Staithes is also home to the word famous “Staithes Group” or “Northern Impressionists” who were drawn by the unique quality of light and picturesque working fishing village.
This tradition continues with several working artists living and exhibiting in the village as well as at The Staithes Art Gallery.

The Captain Cook Museum in Staithes celebrates James Cooks connection with the village that was his home as an apprentice and where he first got his passion and love for the sea, before travelling 11 miles to Whitby to join the Navy.
