"Very comfortable & cosy cottage a accommodation on a working farm with breathtaking views"
Our party included three generations aged from one to sixty three years old. This was our third visit to the farm cottage. The accomadation had been upgraded with a new kitchen & carpets so was even better than previous visits. The kitchen was well equipped & the beds very comfortable. We stayed for four nights & would definitely return for further visits. The working farm is ideal for inquisitive young children who are made very welcome by the farmers. Read less

Welcome to Kellah Farm, an ideal base for exploring Hadrian’s Wall Country. Whether you’re looking for a modern farmhouse Bed & Breakfast or a traditional self-catering cottage, Kellah provides comfortable accommodation in a peaceful countryside setting.

Kellah has been a small hamlet since 1402 and has been farmed by our family for over 160 years. We are a working hill farm, breeding beef cattle and Scottish Blackface sheep.

Farmhouse breakfasts using all locally sourced produce including our own free-range eggs, comfortable accommodation, a warm welcome and stunning views of the Northumbrian countryside is our recipe for a relaxing stay at Kellah Bed and Breakfast Accommodation.

The five en-suite bedrooms are in a newly refurbished self contained unit that used to be The Pitman’s Arms public house, before it closed in the late 1900’s. Each room is furnished to a high standard in the character of a country farmhouse. A separate bathroom is available for anyone who prefers to soak in the bath after a long day's walking. Water is heated by solar panels and provides plenty of hot water for baths and showers.

Farmhouse breakfasts, including a vegetarian option, are served in the double dining room. The large lounge with its black-range fireplaces, TV, DVD and children’s games are available for guests use at any time. Guests can relax outside on the stone flagged patio area.

A laundry and boot drying room is available for our guests' convenience, as we are in a fantastic walking

Our three "4 star" self-catering holiday cottages were previously miner’s smallholdings and still have many of the original features,
open fires, beamed ceilings and walled gardens. All 3 cottages have 2 bedrooms sleeping up to 6 people in the largest, all have digital TV, washing machines, electric cookers, microwaves and fridge-freezers.

For children we have a playarea with slides, climbing frame and swings also a games room with a pool table.
Environmental Statement
We are a traditional stock farm with hay meadows to protect wild flowers and encourge farm land birds. We have a Bio-Mass boiler and Solar panels for our heating and hot water.
