Response from Twenty Seven B&B:
Thank you for your kind words Lynn.
We try to ensure a home from home atmosphere from which to enjoy the adventure of a Kielder Observatory event!
As the closest accommodation to the Obsy it's only a 10-15 minute drive back to a warm hot chocolate and cosy bed for a well earned rest if your mind isn't too active from the astronomical knowledge you have just acquired!!

Friendliness of Terry, making it feel very welcoming
Dislikes:
When we got back from the Observatory,it was very cold as the heating had gone off. this together with the fact that we were cold from being outside at the Observatory, made it uncomfortable.
Response from Twenty Seven B&B:
Hi Janice,
Thank you for you great comments and sorry that your room was cold.
We do have the time locks set to ensure additional heat especially around 11-12 and 2-2:30am for late Obsy events. The log burner was also on In the lounge that evening.
I would have preferred if you had called me (as mentioned in my briefing - even at 3am - even though we do not have 24hour reception) so I could have investigated the lack of heat and provided a portable heater at the least.

Dark Sky friendly accommodation in Kielder Water & Forest Park.
Twenty Seven B&B - run by wife & husband team Jill & Terry Gregg is your place to stay when exploring Kielder - stay B&B or self catering all year round
Located in Kielder village - England's most remote village - we are an ideal venue to view the dark skies. Great for all outdoor activities.
As the most tranquil place in England, the vast Kielder Water & Forest Park is an amazing oasis where adventure and stunning scenery combine in a landscape rarely seen in England. With a 27 mile shoreline, Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe and Kielder Forest, the largest planted forest in Northern Europe which means there is plenty to experience and enjoy.

Twenty Seven B&B is actively supporting the application by KW&FP and NNPA for Dark Sky Park & Reserve Status for the area.

Kielder is a great arena for outdoor pursuits with plenty of fresh air and clean spring water. If you are into walking, orienteering, running, cycling, mountaineering, climbing, hunting and fishing, then Kielder is the place to visit. Nearby attractions for the less active include Kielder Castle Forestry Visitor Centre, Kielder Salmon Hatchery tours, the brand new Kielder Observatory for the best darks skies in England, Kielder Birds of Prey Centre, NWL Visitor Centre and Kielder Arts and Architecture. Twenty Seven is an ideal base to explore further afield: Alnwick Gardens & Castle (1.5 hr); Hadrian's Wall forts and path (45 mins); Northumberland coast and castles (2 hr) and Scottish border towns (45 mins).

After a busy day you will receive a warm welcome where you will find a comfortable dining room and lounge with TV. All rooms come complete with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, towels and toiletries. The local pub, "the Anglers Arms" is only 5 minutes walk away from the B & B, offering pub grub and real ales. Dogs are welcome in the bar.
