Lovely room, friendly greeting by owner. Breakfast was delicious and held in the conservatory overlooking the gardens and birdlife.
On the day of departure we were given a personal tour of the local area using nordic walking poles - with guidance from Terry, the owner. Terry is really knowledgeable and welcoming and ready to share his experience of the local area. We really enjoyed our stay Read less

Two night stay to visit Kielder & the Northumberland National Park, especially for an event at the Kielder Astronomical Observatory.
This B&B specialises in catering for visits to the observatory (in addition to the other attractions of the area) and we were not made to feel it was a problem returning at late hours. In fact, the contrary. Read less

Made very welcome, with our dietary requirements met and were given a ground-floor room (good for our mobility problems). The service was v. friendly and the breakfasts were excellent.

"Peaceful, homely accommodation with breathtaking surrounding scenery"
Our hosts were welcoming and friendly. They were able to give us lots of useful information about the area and were very knowledgeable. On our first night the television reception wasn't brilliant in our room due to the appalling weather conditions, but they couldn't do enough to help us out, even saying we could join them in their personal lounge if we were desperate to watch television (which we weren't). They supplied cards and reading material and we sat in the conservatory. Read less

It was comfortable - we slept particularly well. Recommendations were given for eating out and the offer to use their phone as we didn't have a mobile signal. We came and went as we pleased.

Dark Sky friendly accommodation in Kielder Water & Forest Park.
Twenty Seven B&B - run by wife & husband team Jill & Terry Gregg is your place to stay when exploring Kielder - stay B&B or self catering all year round
Located in Kielder village - England's most remote village - we are an ideal venue to view the dark skies. Great for all outdoor activities.
As the most tranquil place in England, the vast Kielder Water & Forest Park is an amazing oasis where adventure and stunning scenery combine in a landscape rarely seen in England. With a 27 mile shoreline, Kielder Water is the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe and Kielder Forest, the largest planted forest in Northern Europe which means there is plenty to experience and enjoy.

Twenty Seven B&B is actively supporting the application by KW&FP and NNPA for Dark Sky Park & Reserve Status for the area.

Kielder is a great arena for outdoor pursuits with plenty of fresh air and clean spring water. If you are into walking, orienteering, running, cycling, mountaineering, climbing, hunting and fishing, then Kielder is the place to visit. Nearby attractions for the less active include Kielder Castle Forestry Visitor Centre, Kielder Salmon Hatchery tours, the brand new Kielder Observatory for the best darks skies in England, Kielder Birds of Prey Centre, NWL Visitor Centre and Kielder Arts and Architecture. Twenty Seven is an ideal base to explore further afield: Alnwick Gardens & Castle (1.5 hr); Hadrian's Wall forts and path (45 mins); Northumberland coast and castles (2 hr) and Scottish border towns (45 mins).

After a busy day you will receive a warm welcome where you will find a comfortable dining room and lounge with TV. All rooms come complete with complimentary tea and coffee making facilities, towels and toiletries. The local pub, "the Anglers Arms" is only 5 minutes walk away from the B & B, offering pub grub and real ales. Dogs are welcome in the bar.

We have no external floodlights especially as we are one of the areas with lowest light pollution in UK. We compost organic kitchen waste. We only use our wireless internet when guests actually require access. We do not launder towels daily unless guests request fresh ones.
