"This is a wonderful find"
Staying at the Mill House is a cross between the best bits of staying with at the home of your best friend and staying in a 5 star boutique hotel. The B&B has been furnished with extraordinary style and care. It has obviously been a labour of love. There are 3 bedrooms and a living room for guests. The downstairs room has an en-suite whilst the two upstairs rooms share a bathroom. We stayed in the larger upstairs room which was spacious with an extremely comfortable bed. Read less

Our stay was made by our hostess Karen, who is warm and thoroughly charming. She welcomed us with tea and delicious home-made cake (the home-made shortbread in the rooms also deserves a mention).

"Perfect stay"
Everything was perfect. Location: quiet, tranquil and central to many sights and attractions. B&B: beautifully presented rooms, the use of the 'snug', honesty bar and the outdoor seating was great. Host: Karen was lovely and so kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and she gave us excellent hints and tips for eating out and places to visit - places we may not have found without her local knowledge. Breakfast: Everything you could want and more! Read less

Response from Mill House:
Hi Ruth thank you for your feedback and wonderful, kind, encouraging words. I have taken you up on your thoughts regarding the blind and have one in hand which will be fitted very soon; then as you say guests have the option to enjoy the view of the hillside while showering or to create privacy & pull the blind.
It was delightful to share Mill House with you look forward to welcoming you both back. Kindest Karen

Mill House is a beautiful 16th century cottage, nestled by the river Coquet, providing a tranquil and stunning place to escape. Formerly part of The Guyzance Hall Estate, it was home to the mill manager and his family until the mid 1900’s. A superior B&B providing a warm welcome with homemade cake and a breakfast described by a recent guest as;

“A real poachers breakfast….Out of this world.”
Doug – North Yorkshire

Close to the main North-South East Coast train line, local station being Alnmouth, the stunning beaches and castles of the Northumberland coast are a 15 minute drive. The market towns of Alnwick, Morpeth and Rothbury are within 20 minutes. Golf courses to be played at Alnmouth, Warkworth, Bamburgh and Dunstanburgh. Wonderful cycling and walking routes; taking you to the coast and it’s castles, north to Holy Island or inland and the Cheviot Hills.

A pickup/drop off at the station can be organised when making your reservation, Karen would also be delighted to help source and provide extra goodies for surprises and special occasions, again discuss upon booking. With a wealth of knowledge and information about the county she can help you plan a memorable stay. In addition contacts in a variety of fields from shooting, fishing, golfing, spas, restaurants whatever your interest a package can be created for you, nothing is too much of a challenge. The area of Guyzance is unspoilt, with a wealth of wildlife and fauna. Sit in one of the peaceful corners of the garden listening to fish leaping in the river, watch Buzzards flying overhead and gaze at the dark starry sky at night...then curl up in front of the log burner in the resident's snug with a book or a DVD.

“Fabulous hostess, beautiful home & wonderful food. A little secret gem that should not be so secret…”
Glenda – London August 2013.
