A place steeped in history yet restored sympathetically to a good standard. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Exceptionally good value all round.
Dislikes:
Our room, though generally clean, didn't appear to have been hoovered.
Response from The George Inn:
Thank you so much for your kind reviews. I apologise if the room appeared to not have been hoovered - I have spoken to housekeeping and it would appear that our "Henry" hoover is struggling which means we will have to invest in another...... thank you for bringing it to my attention.

Helpful, pleasant, dog friendly, nice clean bathroom and comfy bed.
Dislikes:
Traffic noise as it was on road side.
Response from The George Inn:
Thank you for your lovely review our bathrooms have recently been refurbished which we are very pleased with. I would like to add that the road is only a B road and traffic if any is normally limited to morning between 7 and 9am and evening 5 until 7pm. Otherwise it may have been agricultural traffic earlier than this and this will depend on the time of the year. We are very pleased it wasn't a major issue for you :)

The Bar at the George is traditionally English and frequented by locals and visitors. It's a place where farmers meet and walkers recover. You will meet all types here. There is a regular selection of ales from the local Hook Norton Brewery, an inglenook fireplace, stone mullion windows and some historic panels. One of the rooms dates before 1350 when the stonemasons who built the church were housed at the inn. Outside we have a large garden with seating, covered smoking area, small children's play area and a car park. Dogs and children are welcome. We have a childrens policy whereon we request no children sit at the actual bar and that they vacate the bar area completely on Friday and Saturday evenings before 8pm. Children are welcome to be in the restaurant past this time if dining with adults.
