We thought the room price was a bit high compared to other room we have stayed in resonantly. The four poster bed was a let down I thought it would be a true four poster with all the curtains and that

"Excellent value-for money stay"
Nice little one-night stopover (with good beer!) in this charming period inn while working nearby. The landlords and staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent for both dinner and breakfast and the single occupancy room was cosy and warm despite no double glazing. Was pleasing to see a good number of locals at the bar in the evening, the sign of a good pub. Good local walks nearby if that's also your thing. Read less
Likes:
Excellent value for money, fast service and friendliness from landlord and staff, top-class beer, good breakfast and dinner (by the roaring log fire on a cold November evening) and cosy room.
Dislikes:
Only two minor faults. My shower in nice new bathroom fluctuated between a pleasant warmth and icy cold. And there was only one tea bag amongst 10+ coffee sachets in room.

The Bar at the George is traditionally English and frequented by locals and visitors. It's a place where farmers meet and walkers recover. You will meet all types here. There is a regular selection of ales from the local Hook Norton Brewery, an inglenook fireplace, stone mullion windows and some historic panels. One of the rooms dates before 1350 when the stonemasons who built the church were housed at the inn. Outside we have a large garden with seating, covered smoking area, small children's play area and a car park. Dogs and children are welcome. We have a childrens policy whereon we request no children sit at the actual bar and that they vacate the bar area completely on Friday and Saturday evenings before 8pm. Children are welcome to be in the restaurant past this time if dining with adults.
