"Canoeing the River Severn"
My brother and I needed a base from which to spend three days canoeing the River Severn in Shropshire and Brownhills suited us perfectly. We enjoyed two good rooms with lovely views and every amenity we could think of was provided.
The kitchen and dining room are open plan and so shared conversation with Yoland was inevitable - and what a pleasure that was! She was well-informed and interesting on a range of local and general issues and she was interested in us and our adventures in excgange. Read less

Response from Brownhill House:
Many thanks Elizabeth and Robert for your kind words. Many years in the B&B business has tought be that interesting people are intrested people, sadly, we do not see so many of such people as we used to. It was great fun meeting you both., Thank you also for the wonderful picture of the Ironbridge Powerstation towers among the trees - better than many so called sculptures I have seen in gardens!

Its close to the village where there's a good pub with food.
Dislikes:
Our room was next to the road so the traffic could be heard, although it's a pretty quiet B road.
Response from Brownhill House:
Hi Phil, Thank you for your review - `quirky, interesting and eclectic` is how we like to be described. We enjoyed your company and stories of your travelling life - entertaining guests is what B&B is all about. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve our hospitality services, we would love to hear them. Best wishes, Yoland

Situated in the historic village of Ruyton XI Towns, Brownhill House has origins dating back 200 years. It has a large farmhouse style kitchen where breakfast is served and the guests` lounge is traditionally beamed with stone inglenook fireplace.

We aim to give 5 star service, just ask and we will try our best to arrange it. Laundry, car washing, secretarial aid etc. are all available. You can borrow books, get help with family history searches and we have even produced a logo for a new business.

We offer old world standards, modern facilities and an atmosphere to feel at home in. The unique 2 acre hillside garden "has to be seen to be believed". The many countryside and historic attractions of Shropshire and North Wales are within easy reach.

If you have the misfortune of needing to work there are computers for guests` use, colour printing, scanning, email and fax. Guests can enjoy the garden and there is fishing on the River Perry. Horseriding and golf are nearbye and it is a good area for country walks.

All rooms are en-suite with full sized baths, one room is on the ground floor. Extensive breakfast menu using local produce and tea and coffee always available. There are several excellent pub restaurants within easy reach and local pubs in walking distance.

We accept US Dollars.
