We were very grateful for the friendly welcome and the help with our bags from the car.Jackie informed us that we could help ourselves to unlimited fresh milk from the fridge in the dining room. There was filtered water by the bed and plenty of tea, coffee. The fruit was a lovely touch too.We stayed for two nights and despite the rain, and boy did it rain, we found plenty to do in the surrounding area.We found staying at Prospect House a delight thank you for being so accommodating. Friendly, helpful Landlady. Advice on where and what to visit in our short stay and the best places to eat and where to avoid. Very useful and no disappointments.
Dislikes:
Lack of sitting room to wait for other couple pre going out and have a drink together before going to bed.
Response from Prospect Guest House:
Sorry about the lack of a sittingroom - this has not cropped up as a problem before & at the moment I cannot see a way to rectify that situation. Other couples have not flagged it up & have gathered either in each others rooms or in the dining room - which has, on occasion, been turned into a games room for cards or board games. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of your stay & that you also enjoyed the hospitality the local hostelry's provided.

Prospect House has been in our family since 1903. Situated within two acres of paddock and gardens, also on a hill provides us with beautiful Shropshire views far and wide - all the way to the Longmynd, Clee and Malvern Hills.
We are in one of the oldest parts of Telford which now has all the benefits of the large Town Centre shopping malls and the M54, both about 5 minutes away. Less than 3 miles away is Coalbrookdale (made famous by the Darby family) and its museums. A little further along the road is the River Severn across which Abraham Darby built the worlds first Ironbridge.
This whole area is steeped in history and you can explore it on foot, by bus or by car. For walkers there is a 12 mile 'heritage walk' (which can be done in smaller bites) some of which follows old defunct railway tracks to show off the various parts of the villages and hamlets that now make up the new town. Walk also on Benthal Edge or take a picnic up the Wrekin and admire the fantastic views of the Shropshire Plain
There are Roman ruins to explore at Wroxeter & Wroxeter Vineyard is situated next door. A little further away is the lovely Attingham Park now run by the National Trust, beyond Attingham is the medieval county town of Shrewsbury.
We love our home and its surroundings and welcome guests whom we hope will enjoy staying with us as much as our friends and family do.
