Thankyou for your lovely comments. It was a joy to meet you both & Millie brightened us all up during you stay & I do hope you will all come again - I have some stuff to take to Roden so when I am able drive again (in about 2 weeks time) I will go & see your wee chappie when I drop it all off.

Prospect House has been in our family since 1903. Situated within 2 acres of paddock and gardens, it is also on a hill which provides us with beautiful Shropshire views far and wide - all the way to the Longmynd, Clee and Malvern Hills.

We are in one of the oldest parts of Telford which now has all the benefits of the large Town Centre shopping malls and the M54, both about 5 minutes away. Less than 3 miles away is Coalbrookdale (made famous by the Darby family) and its museums. A little further along the road is the River Severn across which Abraham Darby built the worlds first Ironbridge.

This whole area is steeped in history & you can explore it on foot, by bus or by car. For walkers there is a 12 mile 'heritage walk' (which can be done in smaller bites) some of which follows old defunct railway tracks to show off the various parts of the villages and hamlets which make up the new town. Walk also on Benthal Edge or take a picnic up the Wrekin to admire the fantastic views of the Shropshire Plain. Ironbridge Gorge - now a 'World Heritage Site' & its 10 museums offer much & a 'Passport' which you can purchase for use at all the museum sites is the best economic option if you plan to visit more than 2 of them.

There are Roman ruins to explore at Wroxeter & Wroxeter Vineyard is situated next door. A little further away is the lovely Attingham Park now run by the National Trust, beyond Attingham is the medieval county town of Shrewsbury. There are many beautiful places to see, for example the market towns of Much Wenlock, Bridgenoth and Ludlow are not too far away, all have plenty to see & do. Cardingmill Valley & the Shropsire Hills are also worth a visit for walks and picnics. Country pubs we have plenty of! Not too many chains so individuality & charactor abound.

English Heritage & National Trust have sites to see

We love our home and its surroundings and welcome guests whom we hope will enjoy staying with us as much as our friends and family do
