The food was nice and the prices reasonable, the room comfortable and quiet, and the surrounding landscape is worth walking around for a couple miles. A great introduction to Somerset!

"Ok for a night stay"
Comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels but dust everywhere. Shower's good size but water pump makes loud noise when in use, same happens when you flush the toilet. The central heating came on for a couple of hours in the evening and morning and without the supplied electric heather it would've been cold. Television is so small and so high up, it is hard to watch. Breakfast was
good. For the money we paid it was ok, but the listed price is far too much for the room you get in my opinion. Read less

"Not worth the money"
Whilst we gave an ETA of 1800hrs, and were aware the pub doesnt usually open til 1800hrs, the website also states it is open on Saturday for drinks all day, so a change of plan meaning arrival at 1600hrs should be fine but it didnt open until 1800. Once in the room the remote for the freeview didn't work to the disappointment of my son. The restaurant was overpriced pub grub, with loads of menu choices sold out and we were the first table of the evening. Read less

Given the trauma, the beds were very comfortable. The bar manageress was brill, but clearly over stretched. She was doing all she could to keep it going but i got the impression she knew she couldn't
Dislikes:
Breakfast was not available til 0830 on Sunday morning, but the booking confirmation clearly states breakfast from 0730. No good to us as we had to leave by 0745.

With its picture postcard setting at the heart of an idyllic village of ham stone buildings and thatched cottages, The Helyar Arms is a happy blend of traditional values and modern comforts. Six charming bedrooms, all with en-suite power shower rooms, are extremely welcoming and well equipped with everything from Wi Fi access to complimentary cafetière coffee, and there are plenty of thick towels, quality linen sheets and a choice of pillows, blankets and duvets.

The heavily beamed bar, parts of which date back to the fifteenth century, is the perfect place to enjoy a well kept real ale . Our food, with the majority of our produce sourced within a 10 mile radius, has won over a dozen awards in the last few years, including Trenchmans Guide 2013.Top 50 gastro pubs 2012,Rossett 2006-2013,Dessert of the year 2012 and been in good pub guide and good food guide every year for the last ten years
