"Great location, Hotel quirky but needs attention"
We have just returned from a fantastic walking weekend away, just the two of us. Aldeburgh ticks lots of boxes for people visiting for all kinds of reasons.
The hotel was quirky and had a lot of character but seemed a bit tired. The grounds were lovely however, we didn't get to sit in them. Our room was clean and overlooked the sea so the manager did attend to my special request of sea view. It may only be a small part of our stay, but it mattered. The breakfast was inadequate. There is a small library of books, magazines, regional pamphlets and newspapers as well as a TV. A full English breakfast is served in this comfortable room. All the rooms in Eaton House are bright and airy and typical of the Victorian style accentuated with pretty antique furniture.

As the nearest coast to London to have remained largely undisturbed, the Suffolk Coast is a popular destination for nature lovers and beach-goers alike. The charming seaside towns are great for family holidays and the historic riverside villages are romantic places to stay.
Aldeburgh is a small seaside town on the unspoilt East Suffolk coast. In the 16th Century it was a thriving port and shipbuilding area, becoming a fishing village and seaside resort in the 19tr Century. Aldeburgh provides an excellent base for those wanting a peaceful seaside holiday during which they can enjoy the miles of unspoilt shingle coastline and heath lands of this remarkable area.

The property will be closed from December until April, reopening for Easter.
