Rooms are looking a bit tired and cleanliness has slipped slightly - bed valance was clean/fitted correctly, window paint begining to peel and bathroom grout/shower had mould and dirt around shower

The pub did very good food. All the members of staff were very friendly and helpful.
Dislikes:
The only problem we had was road noise. Our room was at the front relatively close to the main road between Thetford and Bury St. Edmunds. The traffic was constant and included many heavy vehicles.

Relaxed atmosphere. Felt comfortable eating in the restaurant alone. Staff polite and friendly. Waitress printed me directions and left them outside my room, very pro-active of her!
Dislikes:
Could hear music from downstairs from 7am in the morning. Also, the cockerel woke me up at 4am on the first morning! However, the eggs at breakfast were delicious so have to forgive him.

If real ale is your thing, look no further. We offer Brewshed pale ale (brewed by our sister micro brewery) as our session bitter accompanied by Greene King Abbot (for those of you who like to savour their pint!).

We’re passionate about wine and have created a list which offers a selection of old favourites combined with some more unusual and quirky wines. The common theme is that we believe they are all well made wines offering good value for money.

On the food side, the emphasis is on good quality, seasonal produce and, wherever possible, we source it locally. We are delighted to have been awarded an AA rosette for our food. Our breakfast menu includes Newmarket sausages, Suffolk bacon, our own hen’s eggs and smoked salmon from our smokery. We love Sunday lunch and offer a great roast – bring the family or meet up with friends and catch up on your week.

We’re open all day. So if you’re in need of a good breakfast first thing, a fairtrade organic coffee in the morning or a good cup of tea in the afternoon, you know where to come.

Our 7 en-suite rooms have been thoughtfully designed to be comfortable and relaxing. All offer flat screen TV’s, Freeview and radios. We also put freshly ground coffee and homemade biscuits in each room. If you’d like to take a look, just ask us – if we have an empty room, we’d love to show you round.

Free wi-fi is available throughout the pub and bedrooms.

We also have a large garden with a heated decked area. It's perfect for al fresco dining - even on those typically British, not so warm days. We've even added some comfy tub chairs for you to lounge around on.

Children are welcome all day (and all night!). We offer a separate children’s menu and are happy to provide smaller portions from our main menu (where possible).

Baby changing facilities, highchairs (and crayons!) and travel cots (please mention when you book) are available.

We have an outdoor play area and chickens to feed!
