"Generally good but room & public areas in need of refurbishment"
Stayed for 3 nights, Thursday to Sunday in double room in stable block. Room was clean & comfortable but my wife found the bed too firm for a really comfortable nights sleep. There was very little space between the end of the bed & the wall, consequently the wall & door frame were very badly marked by guests moving luggage. Read less
Likes:
Eat in the bar on the first night & food was good. Also good range of cask ales & extensive range of gin.
Friendly, helpful staff. Sunday breakfast very good.
Dislikes:
Poor lighting in bar at night so difficult to see what we were eating. Inconsistent range of food at breakfast eg no jam/marmalade & very soggy scrambled egg on Friday morning.

Clean comfortable and friendly.
Dislikes:
A few things wrong: no toilet lid, no cover to hot tap and no cover on the flush of loo and no main light. This was in room 3. I would have told the staff but forgot..

The atmosphere in the George & Dragon bar is welcoming and hearty. There are three open fires to keep everyone toasty in the winter months, while in the summer, large front doors open out onto the street. The George & Dragon has plenty of sofas to kick back on and there is also seating in the heated courtyard garden, which includes a covered smoking area for those who enjoy a cigarette with their drink.

The dining room at the George & Dragon in Chichester is something special. Diners enjoy uncomplicated, full-flavoured food in the light and airy space of the conservatory, which has large double doors that open out onto the decked courtyard for alfresco dining in the warmer months.

The dining room at the George & Dragon has a dynamic, modern menu that includes regularly changing specials and seasonal British ingredients from local sources. As well as lunch and dinner, it also serves one of the best breakfasts in town. Bar meals are also available for a lighter lunch or a more informal bite to eat.

There are many attractions and lots of things to do in the nearby area, including museums, golf, galleries and a castle.
