"Functional accommodation, no frills and great value"
My wife and I arrived around 1845 and were greeted by one of the monks. We were asked to pay in advance (we had paid online for one night but had arranged a second night.) There was a problem with their card payment service but fortunately we had sufficient cash. After that, we barely saw any of the brethren but were left in peace. Read less
Likes:
Very quiet as to be expected. General location is a little way out of town but near major routes. Beautiful grounds and chapel which we were free to explore.
Great shower in en suite.
Dislikes:
Fresh milk for tea/coffee is available in breakfast room but we only found out on second day of our stay and from speaking to another guest. (UHT cartons in the rooms are dreadful imho)
