Chetcombe House was suitably placed for the purpose of our trip visiting friends in the area. The B&B was quietly situated off the main A303 with lovely views over the countryside from the bedrooms.

"Better Than All The Rest!"
Having booked this B and B after reading all the positive reviews, I was expecting something special and I wasn't disappointed. On arrival, my partner and I were warmly welcomed by Rosie and Jerry and shown to our room, which had lovely views across the garden to open fields and was clean, bright and inviting. There were extra touches such as a mini fridge in the corridor, so that we could have fresh milk and cold water at any time. Read less

The attention to detail didn't stop there, we were given suggestions for local places to eat, lent circular walk instructions and maps and made to feel as if nothing was too much trouble.
Dislikes:
It was too short!
Response from Chetcombe House:
Hello Alison & Mick - thank you both so much for your lovely comments. We were delighted to have you as our guests and are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in the area. Thanks for letting us know about the books :) Hope to see you again in the future. Best wishes - Rosie & Jerry

Within easy walking distance to village of Mere. Room was quite spacious, spotlessly clean and comfortable bed. Homemade biscuits were a nice touch. Nice toiletries again very herbal and natural.
Dislikes:
Only a couple of choices of places to eat in Mere although food at The George was good but unless you have a car you're limited.
Response from Chetcombe House:
Thank you for your comments and for choosing to stay overnight with us. Best wishes- Rosie

Chetcombe House is an elegant and cosy country house set in an acre of lovely gardens and located just a few minutes’ walking distance from the centre of the charming Wiltshire town of Mere. We have five well appointed en suite bedrooms, a guest lounge overlooking the extensive gardens and lots of on site parking. If you are seeking the right venue for a country house weekend with a group of friends we can arrange beauty treatments, wine tasting, book group discussions and days out at the races.

You can also enjoy local attractions like Stourhead, Longleat Safari Park, Salisbury Cathedral, Wardour Castle, Dorset's beautiful Jurassic coastline and the Roman city of Bath.

All 5 of the bedrooms are en suite (either shower or bath/shower combined). The rooms are bright and pretty with white cotton bed linen and contrasting throws and cushions.

Home-made cakes and biscuits are a feature of the hospitality trays. Extra large towels and luxury toiletries are provided in all of the bathrooms. A supply of toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush etc) and feminine items is always available in case guests have forgotten to pack one of these essentials.

The house benefits from a large driveway for parking guest cars, and cycles can be locked, overnight, in one of the garages upon request.
