This area was perfect with the Macclesfield Canal practically on the doorstep and it was only a short drive to the Churnet Valley Railway, the Caldon Canal and 2 large reservoirs.

Welcome pack of eggs, bread, butter, tea, coffee and milk very much appreciated. A lovely, well designed annexe for two, also suitable for assisted wheelchair user.

managed by a friendly couple who made us feel very welcome it was clean and had everything that you require including a very thoughtful hamper upon arrival including some
delicious homemade jam & egg
Dislikes:
The cottage is close to a very busy main road with plenty of traffic noise but didn’t spoil our stay

The lounge at Strawberry Cottage in Macclesfield is comfortably furnished with a double bed settee, with a television / DVD player, and French windows leading onto a private patio.

There is a lovely fitted kitchen, with a microwave, fridge, oven and stove, and a range of utensils.

The comfortable twin bedroom is traditionally decorated. The bathroom has also been fitted to ensure that those with mobility issues have good access.

All areas are carpeted, and there is central heating, so guests are assured of a comfortable stay at the cottage.

The area is tranquil, but with plenty of activities and sites to be enjoyed in the surrounding area. The Mow Cop Castle, for example, is owned by the National Trust and offers unbeatable 360 degree views. The Jodrell Bank Science Centre is the visitor's centre for the world famous Lovell Radio Telescope and the Jodrell Bank Observatory. With exhibitions, galleries and extensive grounds. The spa town of Buxton is also nearby. A lovely town that is home to the spring water and the Buxton Opera House.
